| Neither one of us
has ever loved vacuuming - in fact, we sort of hate it, but what was
really becoming problematic was back pain. We aren't spring chickens,
and we've both noticed that vacuuming is one of those chores that seems
to really stress the back. I was excited about the idea of sparing
ourselves all that extra labor and physical stress, but my excitement
was nothing compared to his when I showed him the Irobot.
We both reverted to our days of
watching the Jetsons! Sure, the Irobot is a functioning household
appliance, but it's also a robot for heaven's sake.
Although the Irobot 532 spent
its first day working, we spent it sitting around transfixed watching
the little guy spin around the house. The vacuum was designed by the
same people who designed minesweepers. But instead of "sweeping' our
floors for explosives, it swept them for pollen, pet hair, dust, and
those nasty little dust mites. It cleared path after path, leaving a
safe (i.e., clean) surface.
And "safe" is no overstatement
when it comes to clearing your home of dust. I suffer from allergies
and asthma and really understand the importance of keeping a home dust
free. I also appreciate not having to keep it dust free by myself. I
have more than enough to do to use every ounce of my energy, so being
able to leave this task to "someone" else is priceless. At under $500,
that little robot more than earns his keep; while I relax, he races
from his docking station to silently clean one room after another.
I have several pets, and I know
the Irobot 532 is an appliance, but . . . he's just so cute and
obedient. We can tell (i.e., program) him to know where to go and where
not to go. He does his job silently, only "speaking up" let us know ton
those rare occasions when he's gotten stuck.
So, is it an appliance or a
mechanical pet or maybe just one of the best little friends you could
ever ask for? Like most really good friends, he has changed our lives.
We now have time and energy to do more of the things we enjoy instead
of spending our time and energy vacuuming. So, I guess you could call
this little top-of-the-line vacuum a friend, a top-of-the-line friend
and the best one money can buy.
